Audit Committee Webcast

Audit Analytics and the Center for Audit Quality were recently invited to participate in a webcast on the topic of audit committee disclosures and activities. Hosted by Compliance Week, the webcast centered on trends and emerging issues concerning the audit committees of public companies.

Hosted by Compliance Week, with commentary from Audit Analytics and the Center for Audit Quality, we will cover points such as:

  • What data about your external audit firm do you try to collect and pass along to the audit committee, so it is fully equipped to discuss the quality of the auditor and the annual audit?
  • What new disclosures are audit committees making about the auditor and the annual audit, to bring more transparency to the process?

How can compliance and audit executives have a more productive dialogue with the audit committee to set expectations, so that your annual audit and relations with the external audit firm are more clear and productive in turn?

Among the topics discussed were the Audit Committee Collaboration and its Call to Action, a document calling on audit committees of all sizes and industries to proactively strengthen their public disclosures to more effectively convey the important roles and duties that audit committees perform. The Audit Committee Transparency Barometer, a joint research project by the CAQ and Audit Analytics, was also discussed.

Mark Cheffers, CEO and Founder of Audit Analytics, and Cindy Fornelli, Executive Director of the CAQ, participated in a discussion and Q&A about these topics and more. CPE credits are available to those who register for the on-demand webcast, which can also be seen here on YouTube.
